| The watch was pretty, but I opened the tin and it flew out at me. Upon closer inspection it was in a tin for a regular wrist watch. My hubby opened it for his birthday and discovered that the instructions were not for that watch, but for a regular watch too! What happened? I had been trying to set the time and date per the “instructions”. We would like instructions for the watch. And yes, I agree with the 9/12 placement.
Watch is pretty, gears don’t do anything like I thought they would, definitely does not have a time and date setting and came in a wrong tin/with wrong instructions! |

| I wanted to get my husband a pocket watch for his birthday slash christmas, and found this one quite easily. I loved the look of the design and also the price. (i also got a great deal on free 2 day shipping). it shipped quickly, and the overall presentation, box and all was awesome! it was even more beautiful in hand than it had been in the picture. all in all a perfect end to a perfect purchase. Now all i have to do is wait for his birthday before i can share it! I have no doubt that it will last a long time, it is fairly heavy, and seems very well constructed, and i have heard nothing but great things from other owners. I would DEFINITELY buy from Relic again! |

| As other reviews have stated, it’s a solid pocket watch, but nothing too out of the ordinary. I’m used to pocket watches where the ‘12′ is where the ‘9′ is so I can open it sideways with my forefinger and thumb or with just my palm. It feels odd for me to have to cock wrist and open it with my thumb from the top, but this is likely a personal issue.
I was unhappy to find that the ‘exposed gears’ aren’t really exposed gears at all. They’re just gear shapes pasted onto the watch face and do not move or do anything at all. At close inspection, you can see some are just cut out pieces of plastic/metal. So yes, at a distance, it looks very nice, like a much more expensive watch, but that’s it - it’s just the look. |
